Winner: State Street Grill, 114 South State Street, Clarks Summit, 585-5590. Owner Tom Hill said “We took how well we were doing our first four years for granted. We realized it and we are coming back stronger than ever with our food, service, and quality. With so much competition, we are taking our game to a whole new level.” Hill added of the awards, “It is definitely an honor and makes us want to work harder.”

Bartender/ Server

Winner: Mike Dargatis, Wellington’s. A bartender at the pub and eatery for four years, said, “I love bartending, and coming out and seeing everyone. People have said they can’t believe how fast the service is. A regular customer could walk in and we will have their drink ready for them before they even order.” He added that it is important to get along with the people that you work with, and said “(My co-worker) Eddie is the best bartender really.”

Irish Bar

Winner: McGrath’s Pub and Eatery, 112 East Main Street, Dalton, 563-2668. “Thank you to the community for their support,” said Joe McGrath Sr. He credited the award to the atmosphere and the hard- working employees. Other awards: Runner up, Corner bar and Wings

Runner up: Bennigan’s, 821 Northern Blvd., Clarks Summit, 586-1223. Mary Ann Brooks, manager, said of the award, “I think it’s great! We love all the people that come in; it’s a great community and our staff focuses on each guest.”

Sports Bar

Winner: Damon’s Grill, 820 Northern Blvd., Clarks Summit, 586-3737.

Runner up: JJ Bridjes, 925 Northern Blvd., Clarks Summit, 586-8833.

Corner Bar

Winner: Own Lee Place, 218 Depot Street, Clarks Summit.

Winner: Wellingtons, Routes 6 and 11, Clarks Summit, 586-1313. Wellington Brown, owner of Wellington’s said, “We would like to thank all our customers. Your customers make you.” Executive Chef, Dan Evans added, “We have a new menu starting this week.” Brown added that in time for summer, Wellington’s will open a patio outside in a Tiki bar style. Ruth Ely, manager added, “It’s nice for everyone to know that we have free pool on Mondays. And Thursdays are steak (on special) nights.”
