A new company Good2Go began its business in June of 2009 and is slowly making a name for itself in the area. Owner Awais Ahmad, Kingston, first got involved with a convenient store in Mountain Top. The store was different than others because organic products were the main attraction. After making a partnership with Hillside Farms in Shavertown, it was obvious that the sales in milk were a lot higher than originally expected. The fast sales of about 100 milk bottles a week helped in making the decision to throw back to the time when milk was a home delivery experience.

Half gallon bottles are an example of Good2Go’s deliveries.

Good2Go delivers five days a week. The first drop off to a home can be as early as 4:30 a.m. with the last customers receiving their products sometime between 1 and 2 p.m. According to Ahmad, the company makes anywhere from 60 to 70 deliveries a day. Some towns currently being served are Clarks Summit, Dallas, Scranton and Montdale. A certain day of the week for delivery is usually assigned to a specific town.
Good2Go offers other products besides milk. Other products such as eggs, meats and cheeses are given out on delivery days. “We have products that aren’t readily available in other stores,” said Ahmad. “We have items that we get directly from global farms within the area. Those products don’t make it to the big grocery stores and people like that. They want to be getting stuff directly from the farms.” Delivering items that people would use on a daily basis is what Good2Go mainly focuses on. Some other products the company store carries are soups, coffee and teas, juices and iced teas and ice cream along with other frozen desserts.
One of the company’s main goals is to offer products that are healthy and not laced with preservatives. Ahmad also takes pride in the personalized service it offers. .
Feedback from customers has been nothing less than positive. Ahmad mentions that there tend to be two different kinds of reactions. One, people enjoy the idea of returning to the good old days when they were younger and the deliverer brought milk to their doorstep. By bringing back an old tradition by simply putting milk in glass bottles has made many enthusiastic. The second reaction consists of a younger generation that is just starting out with new families. “They have never experienced the milkman and for them they have actually embraced the idea whole heartedly. For them it’s a convenience,” said Ahmad.
