Warren Watkins honored with Lifetime of Service Award

In recognition of his tireless and selfless record of community service, Warren Watkins was honored as the recipient of the third annual R. Matthew Burne Lifetime of Service Award presented by The Abington Journal.

Holiday Lights event Nov. 21 in Scranton

Community Medical Center is planning to invite the public to celebrate the Holiday Season by having the first Holiday Lights fundraising event scheduled November 21 at 7 p.m. at the hospital main entrance.

Book club meets monthly

A book discussion group of the Lackawanna Branch PA Association for the Blind met recently to discuss the current selection of “A Remarkable Mother” written by former president Jimmy Carter about his mother, Lillian.
