Music of 1930s and 40s takes stage in Scranton

On Friday, April 24, the Robert Dale Chorale will join with The Doug Smith Jazz Trio to present a program featuring the music of the 1930s and 1940s.

The program begins at 7:30 pm at Shopland Hall in the Scranton Cultural Center. Tickets are $15 general admission, $12 for seniors and WVIA members, and $7 for students. Children under 12 will be admitted free when accompanied by a parent.

On the program are many favorite songs of the era, including In the Mood, It’s Only a Paper Moon, Night and Day, Stormy Weather, Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy, and others by Cole Porter, Irving Berlin, Richard Rodgers, Jerome Kern, Harold Arlen, and Frank Loesser.
