Bog hosts First Night fundraiser, Wednesday, Nov. 18

Members of the greater Scranton community are invited to an evening of fun in support of the area’s largest family-oriented New Year’s Eve celebration: First Night Scranton 2010.

First Night Scranton volunteers have planned a celebrity bartender fundraiser on Wednesday, Nov. 18, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., at The Bog, 341 Adams Ave., Scranton.

This exciting event features Mayor Christopher Doherty, recorder of deeds Evie Rafalko McNulty and Damian the Magician.

Jose the Dysfunctional Leprechaun, of 105 The River, will also make a special appearance and musical entertainment will be provided by the Jim Buckley-Jim Tigue Jazz Duo.

Tickets are $5 at the door, and proceeds will benefit First Night Scranton.

An annual tradition in the Electric City, First Night Scranton is a family-friendly celebration of art and culture on New Year’s Eve. This year’s event will feature more than 30 artists and entertainers in 20 venues in historic downtown Scranton.

For more information about First Night Scranton or the Celebrity Bartender Fundraiser, call First Night Scranton at Anthology Books at 570.341.1443, e-mail firstnightscranton@gmail.com or visit www.scrantonfirstnight.com.
