Bottega hosts Chigirie workshop in October

Try your hand at Chigirie, the art of Japanese Torn Paper Collage Art on Wednesday, Oct. 29, 6:30 to 9 p.m. in a workshop to be held at The Bottega Art and Book Boutique.

Participants will have the opportunity to complete a project as well as learn the basic techniques of tearing and pasting handmade Japanese paper to create a watercolor-like paper collage.

The fee for the workshop is $95, which includes supplies. Local paper artist, Joan Mead-Matsui, will teach the workshop. Registration is required. To register, call Dori Waters at The Bottega, 954-6650.
