The Cultural Council of Luzerne County is pleased to announce the opening celebration for the Third Annual Juried Exhibition, "Inspired by the Susquehanna" on Friday, October 10th, from 4:30 to 7:30pm.  The exhibition will be held in the Rotunda of the Luzerne County Courthouse, 200 North River Street, Wilkes-Barre.

The tradition of the CCLC Annual Exhibition began when the Cultural Council mounted a VIP exhibition in honor of the Governor's Awards for the Arts which was held in Wilkes-Barre for the first time in June of 2006.

The theme of this year's Exhibition promotes the power of artistic expression to enhance awareness and stewardship of the environment, and in particular, the Susquehanna River Watershed.  This year's guest juror is Rob Evans, artist and curator of the Visions of the Susquehanna exhibition and a Wyoming Valley native, has work displayed at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the National Gallery, among many others. His work is also represented in many private collections.

All works are original pieces that have been created within the past three years.  The Exhibition will be open to the public weekdays until November 7th.

For additional information, email cclc@wilkes.edu  or call the Cultural Council at 408-4439.
