Mostly Opera salutes 'The Tony Awards' Nov. 2

Mostly Opera salutes “The Tony Awards” at a dinner-theater on Sunday, Nov. 2 at 4:30 p.m. at the Radisson Lackawanna Station Hotel. The American Theater Wing established the Tony Awards in 1947 to celebrate excellence in theater in New York City and the first winner in 1949 was Cole Porter’s “Kiss Me Kate.” The list of award winning musicals from which Mostly Opera will offer selections at 700 Lackawanna Avenue in Scranton will include South Pacific, The King and I, The Sound of Music, Rent, Les Miserables, A Chorus Line, Guys and Dolls, Kismet, 42nd Street, My Fair Lady and more.

Hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar will be offered in the main lobby of the hotel at 4:30 p.m., followed by dinner and the show at 6 p.m. Tickets are $60 per person.

All singers in Mostly Opera live in the Greater Scranton, Wilkes-Barre, Hazleton and East Stroudsburg area, including: Clark Luis, Sarah Houck, Erik Sparks, Ellen Rutkowski, Brad Eisele, Jim Cerminaro, Gary Richards, Helene Tinsley, Barbara Nowicki, Dennis Fanucci, Teresa Welby and many more.
