Remembering Mike Coviello

Camerawork Photography Gallery, located in the Marquis Gallery at 515 Center Street, Scranton, presents “The Photography of Mike Coviello: A Retrospective,” a show of photographs by the late Mike Coviello from Friday, Sept. 4, to Tuesday, Nov. 3.

An opening reception will be held on Friday, Sept. 4, from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Mike Coviello was a long-time member of the Northeast Photography Club who passed away in June 2009. This retrospective exhibition of his work was curated by Coviello’s three close friends, Carl Backlund, Bernie Andreoli and Rolfe Ross.

Together, the self-described “gang of four” formed the Northeast Photo Collective and shared many great times and photo adventures in places like New York City, Coney Island and Cuba. They met several times a year for a home-cooked dinner and an evening of drinking wine, swapping stories and talking about photographs and photography.
