Simons’ Pond offers free concert

The Simons’ Pond Music Festival, a well-known chamber music series in northeastern Pennsylvania, will present a free concert and reception at Grace Episcopal Church, 827 Church Street in Honesdale on Saturday, Nov. 7, at 4 p.m. Violinist Yu Jeong Lee and pianist Juny Jung will play Violin Sonata K.377 of Mozart, and the Respighi Violin Sonata.

The performance will also include the premiere of composer Stephen Mayer’s Second Violin Sonata. The work was written near Mayer’s Tyler Hill home for the performers of the Simons’ Pond Festival who have premiered many of Mayer’s works in the Simons’ Pond Music Festival House in Damascus, as well as Lincoln Center in New York, Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall and other venues.
