Specht was one of 25 volunteers who helped spread more than 50 tons of dirt over two separate infields at the Abington Area Community Park on Winola Road. League Vice President Sal Santoli said the project will improve safety for the players after weather and drainage had created a hard, clay-like surface in some places over many years.
