AWI/Shur Save announce EITC awards

AWI/Shur Save Supermarkets showed their commitment to Pennsylvania families at a check presentation event hosted by Abington Christian Academy. AWI/Shur Save Supermarkets participate in Pennsylvania’s Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) Program by working with the Bridge Educational Foundation. Bridge Educational Foundation provides a bridge between Pennsylvania’s employers and students. The Scholarship Funds are made possible through AWI/Shur Save Supermarkets’ participation in Pennsylvania’s Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) Program. The scholarships have made a difference in the lives of more than 4,500 Pennsylvania families with students in over 370 schools spread out across 48 counties. AWI/Shur Save Supermarkets had the pleasure to announce $12,750 of EITC scholarship donations for qualified families who attend Abington Christian Academy in Clarks Green and La Salle Academy in Dickson City.

Olivia Engleman, Manager of Training and Development at AWI, was joined by State Senator Bob Mellow to announce the awards to the schools and families. Teachers, families and students attended to support the EITC Program and to thank AWI/ShurSave Supermarkets for their tuition assistance and to thank Senator Mellow for his support of the EITC Program.
