SCRANTON- Teams featuring at least one player from the Abington Heights School District won four of the 11 divisions in the NEPA 3V3 Soccer Tournament on August 8.

The tournament, which is organized by and benefits, Friends of Abington Heights Soccer, brought a field of 44 teams to the high school. The top teams in each division can choose to advance to Kick It 3V3 regional and national competition.
The Frantic Frogs won the U-15/U-16 girls’ division by outscoring four opponents, 37-11.
The other three local champions were in some of the tournament’s most competitive divisions.
Rocket Girls won the U-13 girls’ division with a pair of one-goal victories over second-place Stray Cats.
Turtles edged the Columbia Wildcats in the U-14 girls’ division, winning the championship game, 9-8, after the two teams tied, 7-7, in round-robin play.
Pumas won the U-15 boys’ division with a 7-6 victory over the USTA Wildcats, who had won the first meeting between the teams, 6-5, in round-robin play.

Group 1 (U-9/U-10 Girls) – 1, Cantalao, Mountain Top, Pittston and Bear Creek Twp. (Isabella Termini, Melissa Herrera, Lauren Andrews, Angelina Falcone, Kendall Pearage, Nina Artie); 2, NEPA Crush, Kingston and Plains (Allie Pileggi, Emily Bush, Kathryn Gonzalez, Mackenzie Love, Alexia Pino).
Group 2 (U-11/U-12 Girls) – 1, Spike Girls/Sockers, Archbald, Nicholson, Peckville and Dickson, N.Y. (Eileen Casey, Cara Griffith, Hannah Richner, Jillian Paulus); 2, NEPA Crush, Kingston, Mountain Top, Wilkes-Barre, Wyoming (Alexis Pileggi, Alee Petit, Jenny Katulka, Madison Minmaugh, Tiffany Zukowski).
Group 3 (U-15/U-16 Girls) – 1, Frantic Frogs, Clarks Summit, Pittston and Jessup (Emma Black, Antonette Scialpi, Elizabeth Mikitish, Kim Lavelle); 2, Columbia Wildcats, Bloomsburg and Millville (Dominique Dennis, Keena Zalar, Megan Ciborowski, Colby Heeter, Rebecca Bitler).
Group 4 (U-17/U-18 Girls) – 1, FC America, Scranton, Milford, Moscow, Scott Twp. (Katie Sledzinski, America Sosa, Amy Ahlers, Christina Kelly, Brittany Surace); 2, Tropic Thunder, Clarks Summit and Waverly (Mariah Deibert, Justine Leininger, Kat Fox, Becca Schoenberg, Katie Hock).
Group 5A (U-16 Boys) – 1, Pumas, Damascus, Kingsley, Dallas, Nicholson and Mountain Top (Alix Leyrand-Wittich, Dylan Thomas, John Murray, Joe Jarrow, Henry Cornell); 2, Me & My Gang, Cresco, Larksville, Benton, Mountain Top and White Haven (Joshua Haggard, Ryan Wisniewski, Brad Hess, Christian Foley, Seth Skonieczki, Andrew James Krysicki).

Group 9 (U-14 Girls) – 1, Turtles, Clarks Summit (Isabelle Clauss, Abbey Burke, Kelly Pompey); 2, Columbia Wildcats, Catawissa, Elysburg and Bloomsburg (Maddie Stabinski, Bailey Bzdak, Mackenzie Clark, Anne Bryden, McKenna Zerbe).
