Festival of fun

A celebration for the Latino holiday Festival of the Three Kings, usually January 6, was held early on January 2 from 3 to 6 p.m. at the West Side Senior Center at 1004 Jackson Street in Scranton. The event, run by the Latino Cultural Diversity Center and Latinos Inspired for Empowerment will take place on January 2, during which Pennsylvania National Guard handed out presents.

At the celebration of Three Kings Front row, from left: Noelice Lopez, Daniel Perez. Back: Natalie Pegan and Ricardo Pegan, National Guardsman, Gregorio Muniz, Jose Colon and Brian Martinez. Muniz was leaving for Iraq within the hour, but came by to give the children presents and encourage them to remember the military men and women overseas. Muniz’ marriage ceremony was held an hour prior to the event.
