R.E.A.S.O.N, the Retired Equine Adoption Society of the Northeast, is announcing the official retirement of race horse Lady Netty N.
Lady Netty N, a chestnut, standard-bred mare born and bred in New Zealand, became the 11th horse ever and the first mare in modern times to win 100 races in July of 2002 when she was 14 years old. She raced until the mandatory retirement age of 14 and has been a broodmare since.
An open house will take place on Saturday, Oct. 4, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. during which people can meet Lady Netty N. The event will be held at the farm located on Rt. 292 in Centermoreland in between Dallas and Tunkhannock. The open house will include an extensive silent auction, pony rides for kids and adults, a bake sale, food and drinks and new and used horse tack and horse related items for sale. Admission is free. Horses will also be available for adoption, and that includes Lady Netty N.
