Scranton school donates supplies

When the winter temperatures fell and the very few places for people to seek warmth were stretched beyond capacity, an urgent request for assistance was sounded. The students, faculty and staff at The Scranton School for Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing Children took action. Following a drive at the school that yielded hundreds of critically needed items, the Bethel AME Temporary Emergency Shelter took delivery of the supplies to help people battle the oppressive cold.

To make donations of any kind, contact Rev. Simmons at the Bethel AME Temporary Emergency Shelter by calling 570.342.4117 or dropping off items at 716 N. Washington Ave., Scranton. Shown above are faculty member John Hubert and The Scranton School students Amy McCaffery and Kaitlin Newhard unloading supplies and deliver them to Bethel AME Temporary Emergency Shelter.
