Taking it outside

The feel of summer was finally in the air as residents had plenty of opportunities to enjoy the outdoors last weekend.

The Lake Winola Fire Company held its annual summer carnival on June 25, 26 and 27 at the fire company grounds on Route 307 in Lake Winola.

On Saturday, June 27, the Countryside Church hosted a fishing derby at the Abington Heights Middle School pond.

Also on Saturday, the Joseph W. Hall Memorial Auxiliary to the Clarks Summit Fire Company No. 1, Inc. held its third annual Flea Market and Craft Show at the fire station in Clarks Summit.

In Tunkhannock, people took to the streets of downtown on Saturday June 27 for the Founders’ Day festivities. With traffic closed from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., there was lots of space for a variety of performers and vendors.

On Sunday, June 28, in Fleetville, the Fifth Annual Calli Memorial Car Show, Flea Market and Craft Fair was held at the Fleetville Fire Co. Grounds off route 407.

Above, the fifth Annual Calli Memorial Car Show -Flea Market -Craft Fair was held June 28 at the Fleetville Fire Co. grounds. The event is held in memory of Calli Walter who died at age four from leukemia. Every year her family hosts this event to benefit the leukemia/lymphona society. This year will donate to the Ronald McDonald house camp program in Danville for children with cancer.
