July 31: Our Lady of the Snows/Church of St. Benedict Bazaar, to August 2. Starts at 6 p.m. Thursday and Friday and 5 p.m. on Saturday. Free parking and admission. Live music will be featured nightly: Thursday, The Cadillac’s; Friday, The Poets; Saturday, Farmer’s Daughter. Over 40 booths will include American and ethnic foods, bingo, basket raffle, children and adult games.

August 1: Factoryville Shade Tree Commission meeting, at 2 p.m. at 161 College Avenue, Factoryville Borough Building. Agenda includes: Working on fall tree orders, preparing park for Christy Mathewson Days and discussion of clearance and maintenance pruning along all the streets of Factoryville. Public welcome.

August 2: Jaycees Circuit Deck the Halls Tour, 5 p.m. starting location Trax, at the Radisson, Scranton. Bus leaves at 6 p.m. Tour includes: Trax, Cooper’s, Deck, Molly Maguire’s, Gubbio’s, Jilly’s and Molly Brannigan’s. Cost: $25. Lithuanian Heritage Day at the Anthracite Heritage Museum, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Cost: Regular admission charged for the Museum’s main exhibition hall. Lithuanian artifacts, exhibits and activities are free and open to the public.

August 3: Friends at the Scranton Iron Furnaces Day, 2 p.m., 159 Cedar Avenue, Scranton. Dedication ceremony for PHMC Historical Marker commemorating strike of 1877 and August 1 Labor Riot. Printed interpretive guide on the Iron Furnaces, tours and refreshments will be available. Free and open to the public.
