Abington Community Library 50th Anniversary Essay Contest, open to students in grades 1 to 3 and 4 to 6. Each student may enter one essay, approximately one page in length, with the subject “I love the Abington Community Library because…” One winning essay from each age range will be selected, with the winners also receiving a Borders Gift Card. Preschool program for residents of Lakeland School District, To qualify, children must live in the Lakeland School District, be between 3 and 5, and be potty trained. The 10- week preschool program will begin the week of March 15. There will be two sessions. Lackawanna Heritage Valley Authority announces its inaugural “Views from the Valley” photo contest.
