Cell Phone Collection, Abington Heights High School Students against Destructive Decisions are collecting cell phones at the High School. All cell phones are cleared and programmed with 911 for use by the elderly. The phones may be dropped off in the main office of the High School.
Holiday Mail for Heroes, through Dec. 7. Public is invited to send a “touch of home” through holiday cards that contain messages of cheer and appreciation. The Red Cross and Pitney Bowes will then screen cards for hazardous materials, sort and package the cards and deliver them to military bases and hospitals, veterans’ hospitals and other locations during the holidays. U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Campaign, The Marine Corps Reserve’s Toys For Tots campaign is in full swing. Eagle Cleaners is again a sponsor of this program. November 13: Timmy’s Town Center Museum opening, at The Mall At Steamtown with an open house from 5 to 9 p.m., coinciding with Santa’s arrival at the mall.
