Dear Editor,

I am a Vietnam Veteran, I was proud to service in the United States Air Force, now I am proud to support the Employee Free Choice. I was proud to sign enlistment papers; proud to defend our country and proud to support this bill.

Veterans of our armed forces signatures were good enough for this country, so why wouldn’t their signatures be good enough for anyone’s boss to honor their desire to join a union?

Men and women who put their lives on the line to protect our country deserve a chance to be part of the American dream. They deserve a job that puts food on the table, a roof over their family’s heads, benefits so that they and their families can be healthy and thrive. They deserve the right to join any organization that will help improve their situation. We all deserve the chance to be a part of the middle class and help rebuild our economy.

Unions are the ones who brought this country out of the dark ages of republicanism in the 1930s when every job was virtual slave labor and the companies ruled with an iron fist. Today’s CEOs brought home an average $10 million last year, and got more perks than ever. The last time we knew this kind of income disparity was before the Great Depression. John Nynady
