July 30
Dear Editor,

Dear Editor,

I would like to express my appreciation to both Democratic Congressman Chris Carney and Republican Congressman Todd Platts for co-sponsoring the much needed Care Giver Tax Relief Bill. This proposed law will allow people to take much better care of aging parents and provide tax relief for doing so.

When my mother became seriously ill, even though she had Medicare, the uncovered areas placed a large financial burden on myself, my husband and my brother. Many of the “Baby Boomer” generation have faced this heavy financial situation and many others could find themselves in this position in the future. No one likes to come to the point were we may have to ask our children for help because of the stress it may place on them and our grandchildren. This bill will help so many for so little and shows what can be accomplished when caring elected leaders of both parties, like Carney and Platts, work together for the benefit of those they represent.

I’d also at this time like to thank State Senator Lisa Baker and State Representative Dr. Karen Boback for all the work they do for seniors. It is deeply appreciated.

Sincerely,

Alice A. Tomlinson
