Cell Phone Donations accepted, the Abington Heights High School SADD Chapter is sponsoring a cell phone collection drive- all phones will be programmed with 911 for use by the elderly. Phones can be dropped off at the main office of the high school.

Donations request for used school uniforms, Our Lady of the Snows, donating to Limulungo Community School, Mongu District in Western Zambia, Africa. Any size white shirt, navy and plaid skirts, pants, shorts, sweaters and sweat shirts welcome. Info: 570.587.3268 to arrange drop-off and pick-up.

Free Music Classes at Gymboree, two weeks of free classes are being offered to all children 0 to 5 years old. Gymboree’s music program explores music through play, activity and song. Classes are offered for children 0 to 3 years accompanied by an adult. Parent Optional classes are offered for 3 to 5 year olds. Johnson College Adjunct Training Program classes, held twice a week for six weeks, every Tuesday and Thursday from 6 to 8:15 p.m. in the Woolworth Building Carpentry classroom. It is open to anyone with a minimum of an associate’s degree in a technical area and four years of on-the-job experience in the same technical area. Cost: $250, includes training materials. Johnson College offering State Inspection Classes, November 10, 12, and 17 from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. The classes will take place in Johnson College’s Automotive Center at 3427 North Main Ave, Scranton. In addition to the classroom hours, requirements also include a two-hour tactile test to be scheduled with the instructor before receiving certification from PennDOT. The fee for the course is $160 per person plus $6.00 for the course manual. There is an additional charge of $40 each for motorcycle certification and certification for heavy trucks and buses. Registration is limited to 25 students. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and have a valid operator’s license for each class of vehicle for which they seek certification. Yoga 4 kids classes now being offered at La Palestra, a fitness studio in Jessup.
