HALLOWEEN EVENTS

October 30: Fernwood Hotel and Resort Haunted Halloween Weekend through Nov 2. Pumpkin Patch Kids Camp, wagon hayrides, trick or treating around the hotel, make your own scarecrow crafts, pumpkin decorating, Witches Broomball and Halloween Jingo. Johnson College Student Government Halloween Fun Night for children, 6:30 until 8:30 p.m. in Johnson College’s Moffat Building, 3427 North Main Avenue in Scranton. Proceeds will benefit the Lackawanna County United Way. Children 13 and under are welcome. Cost: $2 per person and children under 3 are free. Activities will include a costume contest, pumpkin decorating contest, face painting, bean bag toss, pumpkin bowling, coloring, and more. Beverages and snacks will be provided. October 31: Trunk or Treat Fall Festival, 5 to 8 p.m., sponsored by The Dickson City Primitive Methodist Church on the corner of Lincoln and Jackson Streets, Dickson City. Festivities include games, prizes, refreshments and live music. Info: 570.604.4355

“Trunk or Treat” event, Saturday, Oct. 31, 6 p.m. at Clarks Green United Methodist Church, 119 Glenburn Road, Clarks Green. Each car trunk will be opened and decorated in a theme and filled with special treat bags. Warm apple cider, donuts and goodies from a special table for children, parents. The church will also be open in case the trick-or-treaters need to use the facilities. Cost: Free.

Halloween Party, 2 p.m. at the Waverly Community House Auditorium.

The Settlers Inn annual storytelling dinner, at 6:30 p.m. Stories by The Uphill String Band with their musical ballads during a feast of handcrafted seasonal dishes. Dinner at 7. Cost: $ 55, plus tax and gratuities. Info: www.TheSettlersInn.com or call 570-226-2993

SAFE Halloween Party, noon to 2 p.m. at the Shoppes at Montage, merchants will be distributing wrapped candy and novelties at their locations to all children 12 and under dressed in costume. Radio DJs will also be handing out trick or treat bags with an entry ticket for our prize drawings. Prizes include gift cards and merchandise courtesy of the Shoppes at Montage and its merchants. Rain date Sunday November 1 from noon to 2 p.m.
