Dear Editor,

Thank you so much to Ms. Lorrie O’Brien of Sanderson State Street Salon and Ms. Lisa Sniegocki of Versailles in Clark Summit for donating the telescope to the ABPA Summerfest 2008 Park Day at South Abington Park. I won the prize while working at the MOMS Club of Scranton booth. I was so thrilled to be the winner. My two sons, Jason and Jordin, have wanted a telescope for some time. When I got home they were so excited about the prize we had to set it up right away!

What makes this generous gift even more meaningful to me is that, in 2002, in the weeks following the death of my niece from an auto accident, I looked to the sky and saw two shooting stars crossing the sky together. I took that as a sign that my niece was with her uncle, my brother, who died in 2000. I don’t believe it’s a coincidence that I won the telescope during the same week Colleen died. This gift of a telescope reminded me to look to the skies and remember the ones we love are always with us. Thank you again for your generous gift!

Sincerely,

-Eileen Giovagnoli
