Mailbag

Dear Editor,

Representative Chris Carney, along with 219 other Representatives, courageously voted for the health care bill on Saturday night, Nov. 7, and I want to publicly thank him and all the other Representatives for defying the lobbyists of the insurance companies and taking a stand for the people they represent.

This has been a long time coming. Unfortunately this is only the start—much more needs to be done to get this through the Senate and to the President’s desk. I hope that the media will now stop sitting on the sidelines and begin to honestly tell everyone the truth about the bill: what it does and does not do, what it will cost and how it will be paid for.

It is time for the media to do its job—get the true facts out to counter the lies and falsehoods being spread by the insurance companies and their paid supporters.
