    Wyoming Seminary College Preparatory School celebrated its 164th Baccalaureate and Commencement on Saturday and Sunday, May 24 and 25, as 133 seniors from nine states in the United States and 10 other countries completed their high school educations.

    Baptist Bible College and Seminary held its 76th commencement program on Friday, May 9. President Jim Jeffery conferred 241 degrees on graduates ranging from one-year Bible certificates to doctorates in ministry and philosophy. The ceremony ended the school’s 75th Anniversary celebration.

    On May 17, Keystone College held its 137th annual commencement ceremony. Keystone President Dr. Edward G. Boehm Jr., presided over the ceremony. On his second trip to Keystone College, author and sports journalist Frank Deford addressed the 363 graduates as the keynote speaker. Abington area graduates include:

  • Lackawanna College - 06/26/2008
    Lackawanna College held its commencement ceremonies for 253 students on Sunday, May 18, at the Scranton Cultural Center. The graduating class was the largest since Lackawanna College relocated to downtown Scranton in 1996 and one of the largest since the institution was authorized to award associate degrees by the Department of Education in 1957. The presentations of diplomas and certificates were made by President Raymond S. Angeli, Academic Dean Francis Goskowski and college Registrar Theresa Scopelliti.

    Marywood University’s 90th annual commencement ceremonies took place at the Wachovia Arena, Casey Plaza, in Wilkes-Barre. The graduation, held on Mother’s Day, May 11, consisted of 763 graduates including 373 bachelor’s degrees, 364 master’s degrees, 19 doctoral degrees, and seven Ed. Psychology degrees. Local graduates include:

    The 2008 Penn State University Worthington Scranton commencement was held on May 16 at the university’s Multi –Purpose Building. Penn State Worthington Scranton Chancellor Mary-Beth Krogh-Jespersen, Ph.D., presided over the ceremony.

    In two different ceremonies, the University of Scranton conferred 883 bachelor and associate’s degrees, 645 master degrees and 36 doctoral degrees. The post-bachelor class was the largest in the university’s 120-year history.
