Wyoming Seminary Upper School
Wyoming Seminary College Preparatory School celebrated its 164th Baccalaureate and Commencement on Saturday and Sunday, May 24 and 25, as 133 seniors from nine states in the United States and 10 other countries completed their high school educations.

Members of the Class of 2008 from the Abington area are: Marie Louise Libassi, Dalton; Alexandra Morgan MacNamara, Clarks Green; Lauren Anne Onofrey, Waverly; Luke Taylor Rogers, Clarks Summit.
Alexandra MacNamara, daughter of Dr. William MacNamara of Clarks Green and Mrs. Victoria Lewis of Waverly, was active in Blue Key, the Action and Awareness Committee and the Student Activities Committee. She participated in Relay for Life and the drama department’s Winter Workshop. She also played lacrosse and managed the swim team.
Wyoming Seminary cum laude graduate Lauren Onofrey, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. David Onofrey of Waverly, received the Harry W. and Emma R. Ruggles Award for Outstanding Graduate, in recognition of her scholarship, character and contributions to school life. She also received the Horace Parker Prize for excellence in creative and expository writing.
Onofrey, a recipient of the Sem Trustee Academic Scholarship, has been named to the Dean’s List with High Honors and has been named to Cum Laude, the academic honor society for independent schools. Marie Libassi, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Libassi of Dalton, received the Francis J. Mehm, III Memorial Award during the school’s 164th Commencement. The award recognizes achievement in academics, citizenship and contributions to school spirit.
Libassi has been named to the Dean’s List with High Honors. Wyoming Seminary cum laude graduate Luke Rogers, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Rogers of Clarks Summit, received the Mabel Scott Wandell and Sterling Leroy Wandell Scholarship Award during the school’s 164th Commencement. The award recognizes leadership within the student body.
Rogers has been named to the Dean’s List with High Honors and has been named to Cum Laude, the academic honor society for independent schools.
