Being members of some of the more prominent local bands in the area, the members of the Doug Smith Trio are used to having people come to them.

From left, Coleman and Doug Smith.
Bass player, Doug Smith, is a member of the Skytop Lodge House Band, while his nephew violin player, Coleman Smith and guitar player Roy Williams, are both members of The Moneynotes.
But Doug explained one of the reasons they decided to come back and play the Ice Festival again this year is because they love making special trips to the people.
“I love playing venues like this, where you’re bringing the music to the people,” said Doug.
“We played three years ago at Everything Natural and it was a lot of fun, and we got a really diverse group of people.”
“It’s fun playing for kids or people who might not go to music shows.”
The Doug Smith Trio will be performing their acoustic bluegrass swing this Sunday, Feb. 15, at Gerrity’s Supermarket, from 1 to 3 p.m.
