Choral Evensong at St. Anthony Padua

On Sunday, February 7 at 5:00 p.m., the St. Thomas More Society of
Scranton will offer the service of Choral Evensong at St. Anthony Padua
Catholic Church, 1013 Wood Street, Scranton. The Adult Choir and
choristers of the St. Thomas More Choir School will sing music of the
English Renaissance, including Thomas Tallis, Thomas Morley, and Robert
Whyte.

The St. Thomas More Society is a Catholic congregation in the Diocese of
Scranton founded by former Anglicans, worshiping in an approved
variation of the Roman Rite called the Anglican Use. Evensong – a
service of Evening Prayer largely set to music – is a combination of the
Catholic evening offices of Vespers and Compline, and has been sung
daily in the great Cathedrals of England for over 400 years.

Admission is free. For further information, call the St. Thomas More
Society at 570.343.0634, or email campbell@stthomasmoresociety.org
