Christmas Holiday Bureau taking requests for assistance through Nov. 25

 

 

 

The Christmas Holiday Bureau will officially open on Monday, November 16 for scheduling of interviews.  This year Christmas Holiday Bureau will be helping families with children residing in Lackawanna County that meet eligibility requirements.  Families seeking holiday assistance are asked to call 504.0244 for information and to schedule an interview.  The phones lines will be available Nov.16 through 25, 9 a.m. until 3 p.m., weekdays.  Interviews will be conducted in Scranton and Carbondale.  Wal-Mart gift cards will once again be distributed to eligible applicants for holiday assistance.

 

Voluntary Action Center, a United Way Member Agency has been providing holiday assistance to families since 1972.
