PennDOT announces March 23 road work


PennDOT announced road work for March 23 including the following for Interstate 81:

Exit 191A (Dickson City-Viewmont Mall): Northbound and Southbound re-decking of the bridge over Business Route 6. Work has begun. Watch for new traffic patterns.  On Monday, March 23, between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m., traffic will be switched on I-81. Watch for single lane restriction in both directions of the bridge. The temporary concrete traffic barrier will be moved, expanding the already-closed center lanes of the bridge.  The Southbound I-81 on-ramp accessible from Route 6 West will be closed Monday, and will reopen approximately September 2009. The DETOUR for I-81 SB: Follow Route 6 under the bridge and through Chinchilla to Business Route 6 and 11 to the turnpike entrance in Clarks Summit to I-81 SB.

Exits 191-189:
Southbound inlet cleaning and cross pipe flushing between exits 189 (Main Ave) and 191 (Business Rt. 6) Monday  and Tuesday, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.  Left lane closed.

Exit 191:
Southbound. Drainage work in median at Off -Ramp at Exit 191 (Dickson City/Mall/Bus. Rt. 6) Monday through Friday, March 27. Slow moving construction equipment 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Exits 184-191:
Northbound and southbound. Slow moving, night time sweeping operation between Exit 184 (River St.) and Exit 191 (Dickson City/Mall/Bus. Rt. 6) Monday through Thursday, March 26. Shoulder restrictions midnight to 7 a.m.
