They 'rolled out the barrels' on Center Street in Scranton

Center Street in downtown Scranton continues as the host location for multi-cultural, once-a-month Tuesdays on Center Street with Polish, Russian and Ukrainian festivities held Tuesday, August 26. Food featured at the Eastern European Appreciation Celebration included pierogies from Plumpy’s and potato pancakes from Cooper’s. Other food donors include Brixx Tavern and Grill and the Hilton Scranton. Bottled water was donated by Brewer’s Outlet.
Polka music was performed by John Stevens Doubleshot. The Red Shoe Dance Company, taught at the Renaissance Center in South side Scranton, provide entertainment to festivalgoers with a Russian dance. Vida Tapas Bar also served refreshments on Center Street.

Upcoming Tuesdays on Center Street events include:  Italian Day, Sept. 30 and Western European Day, Oct. 28. All events are from 5 to  7 p.m., 500 block of Center Street, Scranton.
