Veterans' outreach public hearing set for Friday in Scranton

State House Majority Policy Committee Chairman Mike Sturla, D-Lancaster, has announced the committee will hold a public hearing on outreach for Pennsylvania veterans from 9 to 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 5, at the University of Scranton, DeNaples Center, McIlhenny Ballroom’s Section C, 900 Mulberry St., Scranton.

State Rep. Ken Smith, D-Lackawanna, requested the hearing and will serve as co-chairman. The current agenda is:

9 a.m. – Welcome and opening remarks


9:10 a.m. – Brig. Gen. Scott Wagner, deputy adjutant general for veterans affairs, Pennsylvania Department of Military and Veterans Affairs

        
9:30 a.m. – Thomas Dougherty, past state commander, Pennsylvania Veterans of Foreign Wars


9:50 a.m. – Brian Morris, former Erie office director, Veterans Outreach


10:10 a.m. – Jane Oswald, tobacco outreach coordinator, Northeast Regional Cancer Institute


10:30 a.m. – Closing remarks
