Weather Alert: Sleet, freezing rain expected

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm advisory for the counties of Luzerne, Lackawanna, Wyoming and Sullivan from 5 p.m. today through 6 p.m. Wednesday.

A storm front moving across the region will bring snow, sleet and freezing rain later this afternoon lasting throughout the night before changing to all rain on Wednesday.

Total snow accumulations is one to two inches, the NWS reports.

An ice storm warning is issued for Columbia and Schuylkill counties.
