A new bar and restaurant is coming to Scranton and the owners hope the patrons will be calling it “a dump,” as it's name will be “The City Dump.”

Owner Kara Gionvetti said the name was chosen because of its quirkiness.
“We hope it’s going to be a fun name, and we’re looking for a fun crowd,” Gionvetti said.
The business will open at 222 Wyoming Ave. in the location of the former Blues Street night club, said Gionvetti.
Bar food, or “garbage food,” Gionvetti said, will be featured on the menu with item names including: garbage plate specials, toxic tasties and waist management being bounced around. Entertainment at the bar and restaurant, including a Nintendo Wii and karaoke nights, are being considered, she added.
A soft opening of the restaurant's bar will be held Friday and Saturday starting at 5 p.m. on each night, Gionvetti said.
The kitchen is expected to be ready for business by Christmas, she added.
