The couple met when they were employed by General Electric, Fort Wayne. Their careers with General Electric took them to Binghamton, NY; Dayton, Ohio; St. Louis; Lynn, MA; and The Hague, the Netherlands. They enjoyed their retirement in Bradenton.Surviving are a brother, Ralph Brower Jr., Peoria, IL; a sister, Margaret Gentis, Dayton; two brothers-in-law, James V. Her first husband, Alex N. Misterman, died in 1994. Born July 4, 1928, in Boston, daughter of the late Ralph E. and Geneiveve Shea Dennis, she moved to Clarks Green in 2006 from Buffalo, NY. She previously lived in Waterford, NY., Hillsdale, MA, and Scotia, NY.Marion was an accomplished artist who also enjoyed outdoor photography. She enjoyed gardening and was an advocate for wildlife. She also had a great fondness for animals and her nine cats. Generally, she was a basic, loving and kind woman who was devoted to her family and others.Surviving are two sons, Gregory D. Misterman and wife, Melissa, Clarks Green and Dennis Misterman and wife, Bernie, West Seneca, NY; a daughter, Cathy Rankine and husband, Mark Rensselaer, NY; and three grandsons, Phillip, Clarks Green; and Alex and Brendon, both of West Seneca. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Ralph J. Dennis. A memorial service will be Wednesday, Sept. 17 at 7 p.m. in Jennings-Calvey Funeral and Cremation Services Inc., 111 Colburn Ave., Clarks Summit, with services by the Rev. George J. Mathews Jr., pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church, Clarks Summit. Interment, private at the convenience of the family. She was a resident of Clarks Summit for the past 12 years and prior to retirement she was the owner operator of Maines Grocery Store in Green Ridge and later purchased the Lamp Lighter Restaurant and Bar in Scranton. She was a member of the Asbury United Methodist Church, and its Beta Class, the ladies Auxillary of the V.F.W. Post 908 and a graduate of Carbondale High School. She was a kind loving mother and grandmother who loved to cook and bake her special apple pies. Her favorite place was her relaxing time at Newton Lake.

Born in Wilkes- Barre on March of 1924, daughter of the late Alfred and Sarah Nieman, she was a 1942 graduate of Falls Overfield High School and a member of the Bethel United Methodist Church, Falls.Doris helped her late husband, Howard work on their dairy farm and they were the owners and operators of How Kola Campground until his death in 1981.She also worked at the Falls Dress Factory as a seamstress. Before turning ill, Doris lived at home with her daughter and son- in -law, Robyn and Mark Merrifield, and her two grandchildren, Matthew and Autumn. Also surviving are two other daughters, Linda Firestine, Tunkhannock and Lois Nuss, Cape Cod, MA; a sister, Nancy Houck, Wyoming; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen who died in 1959. The family wishes to thank the staff at Community Medical Center and Hospice Care. They also would like to thank Dr. Stephen Jaditz and his staff for their professional and compassionate care. A funeral service was to be held on Tuesday from the Lawrence E. She attended Scranton public schools, the Powell School of Business, Scranton, and the Centennary Collegiate Institute, Hacketstown. She was a Secretary at the Scranton Country Club in the early 1930s. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Factoryville United Methodist Church. Surviving are two daughters, Fay King, Clarks Summit and Brenda Spangenberg, Factoryville, with whom she resided; two grandchildren, Robyn Armbruster and her husband, Brian, Merritt Island, FL and John King, Clarks Summit, nieces and nephews.
