Jean L. Smith

Jean L. Smith, 67, of Tunkhannock, died Monday, March 3, at home. Born in South Abington Twp., she was the daughter of the late George and Mildred Greene Cooper.

She graduated from Clark Summit High School in 1958. Prior to retirement, Jean had two careers. She served as the administrator of the Tunkhannock Methodist Manor and in the billing department at Road Scholar Transport. In her spare time, Jean was an avid reader and patron of the arts.

Surviving is daughter Jami Day, Tunkhannock; son Scott Granville, Tunkhannock; sisters Mildred Taugher, Clarks Summit and Janet Glynn, Scotia, N.Y.; grandchildren Jennifer Neely, Hollidaysburg; Patrick Hopkins, Jamestown NY; Grace and Eric Kelly, both of Tunkhannock, and many loving nieces and nephews.

Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to the Tunkhannock Public Library,220 W. Tioga St., Tunkhannock 18657, in Jean’s memory.
