Josephine B. Greene, 92, of South Abington Township, died Friday, March 18, at home. She was the widow of the late Charles C. Greene, who died Sept. 5, 1983.

Born Nov. 24, 1915, in Glen Run, Ohio, daughter of the late Dominick and Josephine Balsavick Prolick, she was educated in a one-room schoolhouse in West Virginia, of which she was proud. She lived in Chinchilla since 1952 and was a member of Our Lady of the Snows Church. Before retiring, she was employed by St. Joseph’s Lithuanian Church, Scranton, having worked as the housekeeper in the rectory. She also worked in St. Joseph’s School. She enjoyed her home and especially enjoyed gardening and the outdoors. She was fond of birds and providing food for them daily. Her gentle smile and laughter will be sadly missed by those who knew and loved her.

Surviving are two sons, Roger and wife, Brenda, Paradise, CA.; and Carl and wife, Linda, Lake Hopatcong, NJ; two daughters, Carol Sweet and husband, Art, Scranton and Yvonne Parrett and husband, Francis, Stevenson, MI.; two sisters, Eleanor Struchko, Clarks Summit; and Della Fabin, Clarks Summit; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Shimkus; a brother, Anthony Prolick; and three sisters, Charlotte Rachynska, who died in Venice, FL and Barbara and Stella, who died in Lithuania.

The funeral will be Wednesday, March 19 at 9:30 a.m. from the Jennings-Calvey Funeral and Cremation Services Inc., 111 Colburn Ave., Clarks Summit, with Mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of the Snows Church, 301 S.
