Geraldine Hempelman, 92, of Brooks Estates at Wesley Village Pittston, died March 5 in the Wilkes- Barre General Hospital.

Born December 2, 1915 in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late Rev. Oscar and Johanna Hirtz Hempelman. She was a public health nurse supervisor for the Health Department of Hopewell Twp., NJ. Prior to that, Director of the Visiting Nurses in Trenton, NJ. She was a graduate of the Evangelical School of Nursing of Chicago and received her Masters in Public Health from the University of Michigan.

Surviving are Jacqueline Anderson Kepler, Brooks Estates and Nannette Anderson Burti, Dalton and family. A memorial service will be held on April 19 at 2 p.m. from the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit, with services by Rev. Dr. Susan Ezell, pastor of the Langcliffe Presbyterian Church.
