Adele Nye

Adele Nye, 91, a former resident of Genevieve McDade Apartments, Clarks Summit, died Tuesday, April 29, at the Geno Merli Vetrans Center, where she lived for a short time. She was preceded in death by her husband Butch Nye who died July 1, 1967.

Born May 1, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Petronella Makaravich. She was educated in the Scranton Schools and worked in the garment industry before retirement. She was a member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union and Our Lady of the Snows Church. She loved playing the organ, fine dining, a glass of wine, and spending time with her family. She will be in their hearts forever.

Surviving are a niece and caregiver, Dorothy Osecki, Lake Ariel; great niece, Christine Toole and her husband, Jack, great- niece and godchild, Victoria, and great- niece Jeannie Manning and husband, John; three great- great nieces, Genevieve and Shaneen Toole, and Holly Manning; four great- great nephews, Jami Incavido, Stefan and Jordan Osecki, and Doug Manning; two great- great- great nephews, John-Mikel and Dominiko; a great –great- great niece, Kiev.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Andrew; three sisters, Josephine Strebkoski, Theresa Travis and Mame Murphy; a great nephew, Michael Osecki.

A Mass of Christian burial was to be held on Monday, May 5, from Our Lady of the Snows Church, Clarks Summit. Interment will be in Cathedral Cemetery. Arrangements from the Lawrence E.
