Ann M. Myak Banull

Ann M. Myak Banull, 88, of Clarks Green, died Saturday, June 20 in Green Ridge Health Care Center. She was the widow of Chester W. Banull, who died April 19, 1999. The couple was married more than 60 years.

Born May 8, 1921, in Scranton, daughter of the late John and Katherine Domashovetz Myak, she moved to Clarks Green in 1967, having lived in South Scranton and before that in the Flats of the Bellevue section of Scranton. She was a 1938 graduate of Scranton Technical High School. She furthered her education in religious education at local colleges. She had been a world traveler, of sorts, having been to Rome and the Holy Land several times. She was a member of the Church of St. Gregory and its Women’s Guild, area Bible study and catechism of the Catholic church groups. She taught Confraternity of Christian Doctrine for 22 years at both Our Lady of the Snows Parish, Clarks Summit, and St. Gregory’s Parish, Clarks Green. She was a member of the Deanery of Catholic Women and the Confraternity of the Passion, Society of Blessed Sacrament, Society of Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Church, Confraternity of Christian Mothers, Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Church and the Mother’s Club of South Catholic High School. She was a member of the American Sewing Guild.

The family would like to thank the wonderful people at the Green Ridge Health Care Center for their excellent care and rehabilitation, the Area on Aging, as well as the Blind Association for their ongoing care, friendship and help.

Surviving are a sister, Mary “Mona” Uschavizy, Scranton; a daughter, Betty Ann Czymeryk and husband, Edward, Daytona Beach, FL; a son, Chester Banull and his wife, Catherine “Kay,” Scranton; grandchildren, great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by seven brothers: Harry, Michael, Charles, William, Frank, Peter and Stephen Myak.

The funeral will be July 10 with a memorial Mass at 10 a.m. in Church of St. Gregory, 330 N. Abington Road, Clarks Green, to be celebrated by Monsignor John H. Louis. Interment and committal service July 10 at 1:30 p.m. in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. The family will receive relatives and friends July 10, 9:30 to 10 a.m., at the church.
