Carol J. Artley, Clarks Green, died Friday, Sept. 12, at the Community Medical Center after a courageous battle with cancer. Her husband is Thomas J. Artley; the couple had been married for over 42 years.
Born in Scranton, daughter of the late Stanley and Mary Sincavage Vasky, she was a resident of the Abington area since 1965 and prior to retirement she was a teachers’ aid for United Cerebral Palsy in Clarks Summit. Her favorite pastime was trying her luck at the casinos.
Also surviving are two daughters, Catherine Logan Cray, Westerville, Ohio and Tamara Myers, Clarks Summit; two sons, Michael P. Logan and Thomas M. Artley both of Clarks Summit; a brother, Stanley Vaskey, Dalton; three sisters, Frances Gestford, Clarks Green, Marion Harvey, Scranton, and Ruth Pagnoski, Clarks Green; nine grandchildren and five great- grandchildren.
A funeral service was to be held on Monday from the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit with services by Rev. Carmelita Memolo, pastor of the Holy Spirit Penecastal Church in Dunmore. Interment will be in Abington Hills Cemetery.
