Carol Noe Crouse

February 4, 2010

Carol Noe Crouse, 68, of Clarks Green and Key Colony Beach, Fla., beloved wife and soul mate of Robert J. Crouse, died on Feb. 4, 2010 after a courageous battle with multiple inoperable brain tumors.

She was born on Dec. 25, 1941 in Summit, N.J., and was the daughter of the late John and Ruth Noe. She later moved to Pennsylvania with her family and became a lifelong resident of Clarks Green. Recently Carol joined other snow birds, establishing a second residence in Key Colony Beach, Fla.

Carol was a faithful parishioner of the First Presbyterian Church in Clarks Summit and Presbyterian Kirk of the Keys in Marathon, Fla. In both churches she welcomed all, spearheaded new programs and drove growth. She was a devoted Christian, friend, mother, sister and wife.

While her life was too full to mention all of her experiences and all those who touched her life, most recently Carol could be found teaching water aerobics class, enjoying Mah-Jongg or with her dear friends in Pennsylvania. As busy and full as her life was, Carol always managed private time with those closest to her.

Carol will be remembered by her friends and coworkers at Metropolitan Life from where she retired after years of devoted service. Carol always made herself available to those that needed her. She was an angel and a second mother to many of those that needed her; by her kindness to friend and stranger, she entertained angels unaware. Besides her husband of 46 loving years, she leaves behind her son, Jonathan; daughter, Laura and son-in-law, Rob. She also leaves her brothers, Jack Noe, and wife, Jean, of N.J., and Robert Noe of Fla. and sister-in-law, Betsy Wenger and family.

Her family would like to thank all of Carol’s friends and neighbors, the Keys VNA/Hospice for their care and time, as well as all those at Mariners Hospital that took care of Carol. The first memorial service for Florida friends and family was held on Feb. 12 at 11 a.m., Presbyterian Kirk of the Keys, 8877 Overseas Highway Mile Marker 51.5 Marathon, Fla.

The second memorial service will be in Pennsylvania at the First Presbyterian Church of Clarks Summit 300 School Street, April 24, at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Clarks Green Cemetery, Clarks Green.

Memorial donations may be made to The Kirk of the Keys Mission Fund, 88th St. Marathon, FL 33050.

Arrangements were made by the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit. To send an online condolence, visit www.lawrenceeyoungfuneralhome.com.
