Charles H. Simonson, 79, of Dalton, died Wednesday, August 6, at Moses Taylor Hospital. His wife was the late Mary Barry Simonson, who died in 1997. Born in Dunmore, he was the son of the late Warren and Myrtle Nicholson Simonson. He served in the army during World War II. He was employed as a line painter for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation for 28 years. He was also a life member of the Dalton Fire Co. Fire Police and Fireman’s Federation.

Surviving are three sons: Gerald, Glenburn; Charles, Taylor and Patrick Clarks Summit; one daughter Kathleen Wheeland, Scranton; five grandchildren and three great -grandchildren. Funeral service were to be held Friday from the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St. Clarks Summit, with services by Rev.
