Dorothy Hall Ferrell

Dorothy Hall Ferrell, formerly of Clarks Summit, died June 26 at the Wesley Village in Pittston. She was the wife of Franklin Ferrell, whom she married in 2000. Her first husband was the late Thomas Hall who died in 1985.

Born on September 19, 1922 in Schultzville, she was the daughter of the late John and Ruth Bedell. She was a member of the Clarks Summit United Methodist Church where she was an enthusiastic youth leader, bible school and Sunday school teacher. Also she sang in the church choir for 62 years. She was a volunteer at the Clarks Summit State Hospital and Prison Ministry. For many years, she was a Girl Scout leader and a counselor at Sky Lake Methodist Camps, Windsor, NY. She graduated from Newton Ransom High School in the class of 1940 and sang with the Scranton Schubert Club.

Also surviving are two daughters, Bonnie Hall and Donna Kepler, both of Clarks Summit; a sister, Barbara Thomas, New Castle, DE; three stepchildren, Glenn Ferrell, Plains, Bob Ferrell, Charlotte, NC and Ruth Hurlock, Lima, OH; five grandchildren, Patti Moxen, New Milford, Chip Schlesser, Lebanon, Chad Schlesser, Scranton, Krista Kepler-Bernik, Munich, Germany and Colin Kepler, Spring Lake Heights, NJ; 12 great -grandchildren, and one great- great grandchild.

A memorial service was to be held from the Clarks Summit United Methodist Church with services by Rev. Judy Wanck, pastor. Interment will be in Milwaukee Cemetery.
