Dorothy Saville

Dorothy Saville, 96, Schnecksville, formerly of Chinchilla, passed to eternal rest at the Cedarbrook Nursing Home, Allentown, on Friday June 13, 2008. Her husband, Thomas Saville died in November of 1991.

Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late William and Carolyn Frantz Singer. She has been a resident of Schnecksville for the past 27 years, prior she was living at 423 Scott Rd., Chinchilla. She was known in both communities for her church involvement. Dot was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, Clarks Summit, a charter member of the Women’s Auxiliary of the Chinchilla Hose Company, and served as the President of the Schnecksville Senior Citizens Center for several terms. She was active in the formation of the New Life Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Tripoli, which she attended faithfully. She will be remembered by many, missed by all. Surviving are three daughters, Dorothy Gustaitis, Hartford, CT; Judith Gustaitis, and her husband, Albert, Wilmington, DE, and Patricia Walck, and her husband, Schnecksville; eight grandchildren, Kari Kuehnle, Jay, Ken, Patti, and Tom Gustaitis, Kevin and Kelsey Walck and Kristin Mehaffie; 18 great- grandchildren. She was the last surviving member of the family of Carrie Singer Phillips, having been predeceased by her seven brothers and sisters.

A funeral was to be held on Saturday, June 21 from the Trinity Lutheran Church, 205 W. Grove St., Clarks Summit, with services by Rev. George Matthews, pastor and Rev. Scott Lingenfelter, pastor of New Life Lutheran Church, New Tripoli. Interment will be in Abington Hills Cemetery. Arrangements from Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit.
