Frances Stone, North Abington Twp., died Friday, July 25 in her home.

Born in N. Abington Twp., she was the daughter of the late Milo G. and Lou Lamberton Stone. She was a resident of N. Abington Twp. for the past 95 years. She was the school nurse for the Abington Heights School District for 30 years, retiring in 1978. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Abington in Waverly and a volunteer for the American Red Cross. She was a graduate of the Waverly High School Class of 1930, Powell Business School in 1931 and Hahnemann School of Nursing in 1934.

Frances Stone was “Aunt Franny” to three nephews Laurence Field Doud III, Johnathan Olden Sipher, Thomas Stone Sipher and three nieces Donna Doud Robinson, Edna Doud Ferraro, Lou Lamberton Sipher as well as to seven great-nephews, four great-nieces, two great-great nephews and four great-great nieces. To her nieces and nephews, she embodied kindness, generosity, compassion and strong Christian faith. A birthday, holiday, or any special celebration was not complete without her presence. “Aunt Franny’s” life has provided her family with a legacy of strong and inspiring values and family devotion.

A funeral was to be held on Tuesday from the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit with services by Rev. Paul J. Fields II and Pastor Jack Race. Interment will be in Hickory Grove Cemetery, Waverly. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the VNA Hospice, 301 Deleware Ave., Olyphant, PA 18447 or the First Baptist of Abington, P.O.
