Helen Lois (Pierson) Cameron, 92, N. Huntingdon, formerly of Clarks Summit, died Sunday, Sept. 14, at the Baldock Nursing Home. She was the widow of William A. Cameron Sr. who died in 1978. The couple married in 1938.
Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Eugene and Ruth Harmer Pierson. Prior to living in N. Huntingdon for the past year, she was a resident of Clarks Summit since 1951 and a member of the Clarks Summit United Methodist Church and its Couples Class as well as a member of the Scranton Canoe Club and the Women’s Club. She was “The American Beauty Rose” in her graduating class. She was a great seamstress, knitter and enjoyed life. She was a wonderful person, mom and grandmother.
She is survived by her brother, Eugene (wife- Eleanor) in Albany, NY. Her three children Carol Palomera, Monroeville; Joan Vowler (husband- Bill) of Irwin and William Cameron Jr. (wife-Valerie) of Archbald. She has 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren and always remembered everyone’s birthday.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 17 at 2 p.m. from the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit with services by the Rev. Judy Wanck, pastor of the Clarks Summit United Methodist Church. Interment will be in the Dunmore Cemetery. Friends may call on Wednesday from noon until time of the service.
