James A. Rowlands

James A. Rowlands, RD#1 Dalton, died Friday, May 20, 2008.

Born January 31, 1939 in Scranton, he was the son of the late William H. and Marion Reed Rowlands. He was a lifelong resident of N. Abington Twp. He was a self- employed electrical contractor, a member of the first Baptist Church of Abington and active with the Wyoming County Historical Society.

Surviving is one son, James A. Rowlands Jr., Factoryville; two brothers, Bert Rowlands, East Stroudsburg and Richard Rowlands, Springfield; one sister Ruth Brian Laramie, WY; one sister-in-law Marrie Rowlands, many nieces and nephews, and a multitude of friends.

He was preceded in death by a son, Jonathan.

An informal memorial service is to be held Saturday, June 7, at 11 a.m., at either the pond on his property, weather permitting, or the First Baptist Church of Abington, Main and Carbondale Rd., Waverly. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice. Arrangements by the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St. Clarks Summit.
